Distance: 2km, 30 m elevation
Level of fitness: Comfortable with heights and hiking up 30 m of elevation
Description: Moon Valley get its name from its landscape that resembles the moon's surface. The terrain is a bit rocky, with some tight spaces. We will be hiking to 30m of elevation, and at the top, you will have a beautiful view of the surrounding landscape. Join our WhatsApp group so you don't miss any last-minute updates!
Registration closes on the 2nd of February
Transportation: We are relying on everyone to help out with transportation. If you have a car or can rent one, please let the organisers know so we can make sure that as many people as possible can join. If you are relying on other people to transport you, please ensure you reimburse your costs of petrol/car rental costs. Join our WhatsApp community group to organise this. Most of the road is paved, but we will have to drive through an unpaved road (hard sand with some uneven bits) for ~10m.
Meeting point and time: Meet at the Tammimi car park at 2:30 aiming to leave at 3 pm. If you are not present, we will consider you a no-show (see below)
Details:
The Camel Caravan Crew will hold a pre-hiking briefing (TBC) to go over the plan, level of difficulty, and possible questions you may have. You must attend the briefing. If you don't attend, you will not be able to participate in the activity.
Pack snacks and at least 2L of water (per person). Hiking shoes/hiking boots, a hat, suncream and sunglasses are recommended for a comfortable hike. We recommend bringing a torch after it gets dark. If you don't have the required equipment, for everyone's safety, we may refrain you from joining the hike.
If you secured a spot and can no longer attend, please change your RSVP so another member can participate instead.
It is not allowed to smoke, play loud music, or leave any trash during the hike. By participating in this activity, you are required to follow the organisers' instructions.
Camel Caravan Crew is a Student club, so only students are allowed to participate. Only if there are extra spots available, other members of the community may join.
Cancellation/ No-show Policy: Students registered for this activity are expected to attend. You may cancel your reservation up to 48h before the trip. Any no-show or late cancellation (beyond the 48h notice period) will be limited from joining future hikes.
