AI & Robotics Hackathon for People with Disabilities (Up to SAR 45,000 Prize)

Dear KAUST Students,
We are excited to invite you to participate in the AI-Hackathon for People with Disabilities, organized by the King Salman Center for Disability Research (KSCDR) — a unique opportunity to use your skills in AI and robotics to create meaningful solutions for people with disabilities.
Why you should apply:
• Work on real-world challenges across four impactful tracks: Daily Life & Assistive Technologies, Health & Rehabilitation, Education & Access to Knowledge, and Hajj & Umrah Services.
• Gain hands-on experience through preparatory workshops (June 1–20, 2026) and an intensive acceleration phase (July 1 – Sept 1, 2026) before the final hackathon.
• Network with experts in disability research, healthcare, and assistive technology.
• Compete for significant cash prizes: up to SAR 45,000 for 1st place in the Individuals Category (plus a SAR 20,000 Special Prize for winners with disabilities).
• Develop high-impact projects with potential for commercialization and social good.

Nomination criteria:
Open to KAUST students (individuals or teams of 2–5) with skills in AI, robotics, programming, healthcare, or rehabilitation. Preference for feasible projects with strong social impact.
