The KAUST Calligraphy Club is coming back stronger and resuming our regular sessions for the 2024-2025 academic year. During our sessions, you will get to learn about the basics of Arabic calligraphy using various tools and styles. We first start again with the Diwani style and we will move on to include Thuluth, Ruqaa, Naskh, and Kufic styles, all being calligraphic varieties of the Arabic script. Towards the end of the semester, we will also include Latin scripts. Next semester we will discover Chinese calligraphy. We will also bring Pilot parallel pens to easily practice with inks. Whether you want to simply watch the Club calligraphers writing or to practice by yourself, you are more than welcome! You do not need to have any prior knowledge of the Arabic language or calligraphy.
