Details
Rather than focusing only on what we think, MCT focuses on how we think about our thoughts. Participants learn to identify unhelpful mental habits such as rumination, negative interpretation, and self-critical thinking, and develop more flexible and balanced ways of responding.
Through discussion, practical exercises, and reflection, participants gain skills that can help reduce the impact of depressive thinking and improve emotional wellbeing.
PROGRAM MODULES
Each session focuses on a different aspect of thinking and emotional processing.
1. Thinking and Reasoning: Recognizing common thinking biases and how they influence mood.
2. Memory: Understanding how memory processes can reinforce negative thinking.
3. Self-Worth: Exploring self-evaluation and building more balanced self-perceptions.
4. Behaviors and Strategies: Identifying helpful and unhelpful coping patterns and learning healthier responses.
5. Perceptions of Feelings: Understanding how interpretations of emotions affect mood and behavior.
Modules can be attended individually or any combination of the 5-session program.
