Managing your Research Project using the Agile Approach

Overview

Research project planning requires a flexible approach to adapt to early research outcomes. Agile project management techniques can be applied to manage to execute deliverables in an incremental manner.

This workshop allows you to apply the agile project management approach to break down your project into manageable tasks, analyze and prioritize deliverables, and successfully complete their project on time.

You will need to have a research project.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this workshop you will be able to:

• Recognise key components in Agile project management

• Apply the Work Breakdown Structure method to plan your research project

• Analyse and prioritise deliverables using the MoSCoW method

• Use the Agile approach to review and complete tasks on time

Teaching Fellow Imperial College London

Helal has a scientific background in education and research and currently works as a Teaching Fellow, specializing in personal and professional skills development at the Graduate School, Imperial College London. He delivers courses to Master's and Ph.D. students, ranging from Agile Project Management to Leadership Skills. Trained staff from HE institutions (e.g., Tsinghua University), research institutions (e.g., Institute of Cancer Research), and the government in Qatar (Supreme Council of Health). He is an Agile Project Management Practitioner and Belbin Team Role Coach.
