Resume and CV Writting Tips

Bulding Better Bullet Points for your Experience and Accomplishments

Writing your experience and accomplishments goes beyond simply stating what you did; it requires highlighting a specific skill (tools, technology), and how you used it, what is your added value, and how your work is going to contribute positively to other science and work process.

To do this, follow these steps:

1. Make a list of each experience you've had, whether a full-time job, internship, volunteer position, or role in a student body.

2. Picture what you did on a typical day during a busy week. Select 3-5 words from the action verbs list to convey the skills you used that day.

3. For each verb, ask yourself what you did and how you did it.

4. Reflect on the significance of your work. Consider deliverables, impact, value, and results. "WHAT IS YOUR IMPACT AND ADDED VALUE TO THE ORGANIZATION"

5. Whenever possible, use numbers to describe the scope of your work. "QUANTIFY YOUR OUTCOME RESULTS"

Put these steps into practice using this formula:

ACTION VERB + WHAT YOU DID + HOW YOU DID IT + DESCRIBE YOUR ADDED VALUE
