CV FORMAT

CONTACT INFORMATION:

This section should ONLY include four (4) things: Your full name, permanent and/or school address, telephone number, and email address, usually in boldface, larger type. Include only one phone number and one email address.

Don't include personal information such as marital status, religion, and number of kids, photo, physical traits, race, ethnicity, or citizenship.

EDUCATION:

This section includes your school's name, location, degree type, anticipated graduation date, major(s), minor(s), and GPA if it is ready good. 3.5/4.0 or higher. If you have more than one degree, place the highest or most recent first. Include the title of your Thesis/Dissertation, and your academic advisor.

RESEARCH & TEACHING INTEREST STATEMENT:

A research and teaching interest statement describes your research until now, your interests, and your future plans. Also talks about philosophy and enthusiastic about teaching.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

This section aligns your past experiences with your current pursuits. You need to categorize your work experience in this order:

1- Research Experience, 2- industrial Experience, 3- Mentoring & Teaching Experience, and finally, your 4- Leadership Experience (Administrative Experience). It may include full-time, part-time, and summer employment; student teaching; internships; practicums; academic research; and volunteer work.

List experiences in reverse chronological order, providing the organization name and location, your position title, and dates employed.

Read carefully the "Building Better Bullets Section" to help you describe your experience and accomplishments effectively.

PUBLICATIONS:

This section is to list down all of your publication in this format:

"Author's name. "Article Title." Journal Title, Volume, Issue, Date, Pages"

CONFERENCES & PRESENTATION:

This section is to list down your conferences, symposium, and presentations in this format:

Presentation title, Conference or event name, date, Main points of the presentation

TECHNICAL, PC & LEADERSHIP SKILLS:

This section focuses on your computer proficiency and technical skills. You may choose to categorize your technical & computer skills in terms of software skills, hardware skills, operating systems, lab skills, scientific skills, etc. You also need to list your professions in some of the most important soft skills needed in academia mention a few (communication, working under stress, planning, teamwork, negotiation).

AWARDS & RECOGNITIONS:

This section work wonders when providing prospective employers insight into the type of employee you'd be. It can give a great impression about someone who can be challenges and strive; someone who can work effectively under stress and someone who can achieve results.

LANGUAGES:

You need to include a list of languages that you can speak, write, and read effectively. Especially for positions where a second language is desirable or crucial to the role. Try to be more specific when you describe the level of your professionalism in any language that you are not a native speaker.

REFERENCES:

Include 3-5 academic reference (Name, Title, and Email) after you consult with them and get their permission.
