Great Things Happening at S Square!

Dear Students for Sustainability (S Square) family,

I hope you are having a great start to the week.

First, I would like to extend my warmest welcome to the new members. If you would like to get more involved in making an impact, please join our What's App group here.

1. Debate on Population Growth

Last Thursday, we had our first debate event outside on our beautiful KAUST campus, which was on population growth. The debate provoked great thoughts and insights after Liubova and Eshan attempted to convince us to hold a certain side with their well-developed arguments. I have to say that if felts so great to see you in person (of course with the social distance precautions). If you would like to participate in future debates, please email liubov.gapa@kaust.edu.sa

2. Tours to the Recycling Center

We are happy to announce that the registration for the tour to the recycling center is now OPEN! There are several dates and time slots available this week. We have a limited number of people per visit (5 people). Please fill in this registration form

4. Sustainability Hub at WEP | Institutional Collaboration

Join us in establishing the Sustainability Hub at WEP 2021 with Ana Margarida. The objective is to raise awareness on the importance of sustainable development and provide resources in an interactive way. We aim to build something that will be (re)used every year. If you have ideas to share, please include them in the proposal's link here.

5. A New Meeting Time for our General Body Meetings

We come together once a month to discuss, ideate, and energize initiatives around sustainability. We reflect on our past events and we brainstorm how we can do better in the future. I would love to see as many of you as possible because Together Everyone Achieves More

According to the when2meet result, the new meeting time will be the third Saturday of each month from 2:00 to 3:00 pm. See you on October 17th.

I wish you the best in your exams.

Much love,
Eman M. Alhajji
