Mission & Vision

PSE Student Senate Mission

The senate works along the PSE Dean's office to represent the PSE students, support and influence the processes directly pertaining to student matters.

The members of the PSE-Student Senate represent the currently active programs within the PSE division:

  • Materials Science and Engineering
  • Applied Physics
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Earth Science and Engineering
  • Energy Resources and Petroleum Engineering
  • Chemical Science
  • Chemical Engineering

PSE-SS Objectives

Representing PSE students' voices at the administrative level

Academic Development

  • Participate in making changes that improve students' academic experience.
  • Involve students in decision making as it pertains to academic requirements within PSE programs.
  • Promote the quality of teaching and research within the PSE division.

Communication

  • Provide an opportunity for PSE students to communicate with PSE leadership.
  • Promote transparency and open communication between PSE leadership and students.
  • Representing students' voices at the administrative level.

Professional Development

  • Provide opportunities for students to improve their leadership, technical and soft skills.
  • Enable students to develop well rounded skill set to succeed in an academic and professional environments.

Social Activities

  • Foster a sense of community

The PSE (Physical Science and Engineering) Student Senate was established in 2020, and represents all PSE academic programs.
