Temporary Injuries Guide

Unexpected injuries can happen to anyone at any time. Disability Services (DSO) may be able to provide some assistance.

Special needs units are available for 2 weeks if the students are able to provide the required medical report. This period is subject to extension if the student provides an additional medical report indicating the exact period needed for recovery. DSO also provides wheelchairs if needed.

To register, email DSO@kaust.edu.sa, requesting special needs accommodation and providing all the medical documents that will support the request

Communication is very important. If an urgent message is sent by email, please make sure to follow up by sending an email to DSO@kaust.edu.sa. Remember to inform the instructors of any impact of your condition, specifically what effect that might have on meeting attendance or other class requirements (such as exams and deadlines)

Call on personal network of friends and classmates to help out with things such as copies of class notes, personal assistance, transportation to classes/appointments, and getting meals

Speak with the College Advising Office as they may be able to provide information about appropriate resources and assistance. They can also discuss whether taking a reduced course load, taking incompletes, or a leave of absence may be appropriate options
